Older Fics, strange symbols in between words| jenbgood |

On this board the older fics have some crazy symbols and such that are in between words etc. I've never ran across this problem on any other site. Is there a reason for this? Is it something I can fix on my end? maybe a setting I can change? Does anyone else have this problem?

This problem occurs only for a few users, and we've, unfortunately, been unable to correct it. It happened after a server crash earlier this year. Sorry for the inconvenience.
